Roles & Responsibilities
If you're involved in THD you're likely taking on some additional responsibilities in the division. Below are the most common roles any member can take on, and some guidelines on how perform in that position.
Reviewer
In order to determine the which papers are suitable for conference presentation, we require review of papers submitted to THD tracks. Paper review is a requirement for all program committee members. As a reviewer you should:
- Provide detailed and constructive feedback.
- Be respectful towards the authors and the work.
- Be objective and fair as possible when assessing the content.
For more information on getting involved with the review process, contact the program committee chair or assistant chair.
Session Organizer
The role of the session organizer is to make sure the session goes as smoothly as possible. The roles of the session organizer is to:
- Contact people who are conducting research in the session topic and drum up support for the session.
- Ensure the papers of your session are being reviewed.
- Act as session chair or find someone to be session chair in your stead.
Session Chair
The role of session chair is to make sure the session go smoothly during the conference. The primary responsibilities of the session chair are:
- Ensure the speakers are present and have uploaded their presentations.
- Introduce the speakers.
- Keep the speakers to the allotted time slot.
