2014 Technical Achievement Award

The recipient of the 2014 Thermal Hydraulics Technical Achievement award was given to Dr. Jose Reyes (center in above photo); Chief Technical Officer of NuScale Power, and Professor at Oregon State University. His award was presented by Dr. Hisashi Ninokata (left in above photo) representing the ANS THD Awards Committee and Dr. Si Young Lee (right in above photo), the ANS THD Executive Committee Chair. Dr. Reyes was awarded the THD's highest honor in recognition of his exceptional contributions to the understanding of thermal hydraulics phenomena of significance to advance nuclear reactors and for his impact on the thermal hydraulics community as a research, educator, and leader. During the session that he was given the award, Dr. Reyes delivered a presentation detailing a chronology of his experience and insights with respect to experimental research and design certification testing.
